Pirelli has launched a bespoke P Zero R tyre for the new Porsche 911 Turbo S. The fitment was developed with Porsche and carries the “N” sidewall marking used for approved 911 applications. For the tyre trade, the news shows how prestige original equipment work is moving further into model-specific tuning around power delivery, wet safety, noise and rolling resistance.
The new tyre sits squarely within Tyre News’ core brief because it is a homologated original equipment development for one of the highest-profile prestige performance cars on sale. Pirelli says the P Zero R was engineered to manage 523 kW, or 711 hp, and 800 Nm from the latest 911 Turbo S, while also balancing dry grip, wet control, comfort and efficiency for everyday road use. That matters to tyre makers, distributors and specialist retailers because prestige fitments continue to demand tighter vehicle-specific tuning rather than broad platform carry-over.

In practice, this is another sign that ultra-high-performance original equipment work is becoming more exacting at the top end of the market. Pirelli’s collaboration with Porsche has already produced bespoke P Zero R applications across the 911 line-up, while Tyre News recently covered both the wider 40-year development path of the P Zero range and Pirelli’s move to integrate connected tyre systems into premium performance vehicles.
For wholesalers and specialist fitters, the detail that stands out is the rear axle specification. The new 911 Turbo S uses 325/30 ZR 21 tyres at the rear, which Pirelli says are 10 millimetres wider than the previous generation, while the front axle keeps 255/35 ZR 20. That reflects a continuing trend in prestige applications: larger contact patches and more precise axle-by-axle tuning to manage torque, traction and dynamic balance.
The company says the tyre follows its Perfect Fit approach, in which casing, compound and tread design are tailored around a specific vehicle’s characteristics. On this application, the “N” marking confirms Porsche-specific homologation, which remains a key signal for replacement demand in the premium and prestige channel. For retailers and workshops serving Porsche owners, approved fitments are not just a branding point; they can shape replacement choice, warranty confidence and vehicle performance expectations.
This builds on Pirelli’s long-standing position in the P Zero segment. Tyre News reported in January 2025 that the P Zero line had passed 3,000 bespoke homologations across brands including Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren. That wider context matters because the 911 Turbo S fitment is not an isolated launch. It is part of a broader strategy in which tyre development is used to lock in original equipment relationships and strengthen replacement demand in high-margin segments.
Pirelli is framing the new P Zero R around motorsport transfer. That message is consistent with the company’s recent Porsche activity. In February 2026, Claudio Zanardo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pirelli North America, said Pirelli’s work with Porsche showed a commitment to innovation that carries “from the track to the road”. While that comment related to Porsche Carrera Cup North America, it underlines the same commercial message behind this 911 Turbo S launch: race-derived development is being used to support road-going original equipment credibility.
For the UK tyre sector, the main takeaway is practical. Bespoke prestige fitments continue to raise the bar for approved replacement supply, technical product knowledge and fitment accuracy. As more high-output and hybridised performance vehicles arrive with tightly engineered tyres, the opportunity for the trade sits less in generic ultra-high-performance stock and more in carrying the correct homologated specification at the right time.
