As part of its stated aim to operate 35 retail and service sites by 2026, Kerr’s Tyres Group has acquired Maghera Tyre Centre — a long-established business in Mid Ulster. The move bolsters the Group’s service network and presence in Northern Ireland, strengthening its ability to support customers in the region.
The Maghera Tyre Centre site becomes the latest addition to Kerr’s Tyres Group’s growing network of retail and service locations across Ireland. The acquisition supports the Group’s wider ambition of strategic, customer-focused growth and increases access to tyre and automotive services in a key geographic area.
Kerr’s Tyres has confirmed that all existing staff at the Maghera location will remain in place, ensuring continuity of service for the local customer base.
Richard Livingston of Kerr’s Tyres Group commented that the addition “complements our broader vision of sustainable growth and customer-first service,” and praised the alignment between the two businesses’ values.
Former owner Richard Dempster added that the deal marks “a very positive step” for both the team and customers in Maghera, with expectations of improved support and resources under the Kerr’s Tyres brand.
The acquisition supports Kerr’s Tyres Group’s strategic goal to reach 35 points of sale within the next two years. This steady growth trajectory highlights the Group’s continued investment in regional coverage, operational scale, and customer reach.
While not a technology-driven deal, this acquisition underscores the importance of local network expansion in building scalable service models. For regional operators, consolidations like this help build the infrastructure needed to roll out innovations in smart tyre monitoring, digital service scheduling, and sustainable logistics – all priorities as the tyre sector adapts to evolving customer expectations.
