Bridgestone Americas will unveil a new commercial vehicle tyre made with 70% recycled and renewable materials at WasteExpo 2025, which takes place in Las Vegas from 5–8 May. The new tyre marks the highest use of sustainable content in a Bridgestone commercial product to date and will be the company’s first to achieve ISCC PLUS certification, a recognised standard for circular and bio-based supply chains.
This product debut reinforces Bridgestone’s commitment to using 100% sustainable materials across its tyre portfolio by 2050.
The tyre incorporates recovered carbon black, bio-based synthetic rubber, recycled steel, tyre-derived oils, and responsibly sourced natural rubber. ISCC PLUS certification verifies that these materials meet strict sustainability criteria and mass-balance tracking protocols.
Bridgestone’s engineering team highlights this as a major milestone in scalable circular design, moving beyond pilot production and into practical fleet applications.
In addition to the tyre, Bridgestone will debut a new Drive-Over System — an in-ground platform that automatically scans tyre condition and vehicle undercarriages as trucks enter or exit depots. This technology enables real-time diagnostics to support preventative maintenance, reduce downtime, and extend tyre life.
The system will be demonstrated alongside the sustainable tyre at Bridgestone’s stand during WasteExpo.
As fleets face growing pressure to reduce emissions and prove supply chain traceability, tyres built with certified circular content, supported by smart monitoring systems are set to play a critical role in operational and environmental performance. The timing also reflects rising North American demand for ESG-aligned procurement in heavy-duty transport.
