Halfords has appointed Adam Pay as Managing Director of its garage services division, a strategic move aimed at driving growth and operational performance across its expanding automotive service network. Pay succeeds Karen Bellairs, who now continues with the business in her role as Chief Customer Officer.
With over two decades of experience in the automotive and aftermarket sectors, Adam Pay will report directly to CEO Henry Birch and join Halfords' Executive Team. His previous leadership roles include Managing Director of mycar and Kmart Tyre & Auto in Australia, Deputy Chair of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, and earlier operational leadership at Kwik-Fit in the UK.
Pay's appointment comes as Halfords continues to implement management changes introduced last year to strengthen accountability and streamline channel-specific operations. This structure includes dedicated Managing Directors for Retail, Garage Services, and B2B operations.
According to Halfords, Pay's remit includes expanding the garage footprint, leveraging innovation in service delivery, and enhancing customer experience. His background in large-scale operational management positions him to lead the next phase of growth across the business's automotive services portfolio.
CEO Henry Birch said Pay brings "deep industry expertise" and a "proven track record of driving operational excellence at scale."
