At Intermodal South America 2025, Trelleborg Tires will spotlight its expanding portfolio of advanced tyres designed to meet the evolving needs of logistics and material handling professionals. From smart wear indicators to recycled materials, the company's solutions aim to deliver durability, safety, and sustainability in high-demand environments.
Trelleborg’s presence at Intermodal South America focuses on tyres engineered for maximum uptime, cost-efficiency, and environmental benefit across material handling and port applications. As demand grows for smarter and more sustainable transport operations in the region, the tyre maker is positioning local production and intelligent design at the heart of its offering.
Introduced to the South American market in 2024, the XP1000 range is now available in new sizes to meet rising demand. Designed for intralogistics environments such as warehouses and distribution hubs, the tyre incorporates Pit Stop Line technology—a built-in wear indicator that allows fleet managers to accurately time tyre replacements. This feature aims to reduce downtime, improve safety, and prevent premature disposal.
With a durable tread and lightweight structure, the XP1000 includes a fibre compound made from recycled materials. Trelleborg estimates this innovation saves approximately 866 tonnes of virgin materials and cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 110 tonnes annually.
Also on display will be the CX940, a newly developed tyre for reach stackers and other high-load vehicles in ports and industrial sites. Its reinforced casing, optimised tread, and high-resistance compound are designed to withstand heavy, fast-paced loading cycles. According to Trelleborg, the CX940 offers improved stability, traction, and cut resistance—key features for operators working in high-pressure terminal environments.
By producing tyres locally, Trelleborg aims to respond faster to the specific demands of South American logistics operators. The strategy also aligns with broader goals around supply chain resilience and regional economic development.
“Thanks to our local production, we’re bringing top-quality, high-performance tyres exactly where and when they’re needed,” said Alessandro Sacco, Sales Director Trelleborg Tires in South America.
Trelleborg’s latest offerings underscore the growing role of intelligent tyre design and localised production in modern logistics. Features like the Pit Stop Line speak to a broader trend of incorporating data-ready, low-waste solutions in fleet operations. Meanwhile, the use of recycled materials and region-specific manufacturing supports sustainability goals without compromising performance. As demand intensifies across ports and distribution centres, tyres like the XP1000 and CX940 reflect a shift toward smarter, application-driven design in the material handling sector.
