Michelin Unveils Third-Gen CrossClimate Tyres for All-Year Driving — Now Including Sports Models
Michelin has announced the launch of the third-generation CrossClimate tyre line, extending its all-season capabilities to high-performance vehicles for the first time. The new CrossClimate 3 and CrossClimate 3 Sport offer all-weather versatility for everything from compact city cars to electric vehicles and sports saloons.
With the introduction of the CrossClimate 3 Sport, Michelin is addressing a growing market demand for tyres that deliver responsive handling and braking in both summer and winter conditions, even for high-powered vehicles. The move marks a strategic expansion in a European all-season segment that continues to see double-digit annual growth.
The Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport is engineered for drivers who want a tyre that balances sporty dynamics with all-season practicality. Key features include:
▪ 3PMSF marking for full winter compliance
▪ Highest EU wet grip rating (A) across all sizes
▪ Designed for electric vehicles, with reinforcement for higher torque and weight
▪ Available in 30 sizes from 18–21", including 295/35 R21 107Y
Developed with Michelin’s Dynamic Response Technology, the tyre uses aramid and nylon belts for precision control, while its V-shaped tread pattern maintains water evacuation performance even as the tyre wears.
The standard CrossClimate 3 tyre offers a wider fitment range for everyday vehicles, including combustion, hybrid, and electric models. Improvements over its predecessor include:
▪ 4% better wet grip
▪ 15% longer tread life
▪ 3PMSF certified for winter performance
▪ 64 sizes available (16–20") from July 2025
This generation continues Michelin’s push to merge the benefits of summer and winter tyres into a single, year-round solution.
All CrossClimate 3 tyres will be manufactured in Michelin’s European plants, with the most complex variants produced at the Roanne facility in France. This local production supports both quality control and supply resilience across the region.
By bridging the gap between sport-focused and winter-capable tyres, Michelin is aligning its innovation with growing demand for flexible, EV-ready products across vehicle segments.
