Jaguar Land Rover has extended its UK production pause until Wednesday, 1 October 2025, while it completes forensic investigation work and prepares a phased and secure restart. The company says the extra time gives clarity to staff, suppliers, and partners as it rebuilds systems and hardens defences.

The pause covers all major UK manufacturing sites, including Solihull, Wolverhampton, and Halewood on Merseyside. Retail operations and aftersales remain open.

Support and coordination

JLR is working with cybersecurity specialists, the National Cyber Security Centre, and law enforcement. Government ministers have met JLR and supply chain firms to discuss the situation and possible support.

Data update

JLR has said some business data was affected. The company is notifying regulators and will contact anyone as appropriate if investigations find their data was impacted. There are no reports of major customer data breaches at this stage.

Industry coverage indicates the shutdown will now run into next week, with pressure on suppliers and production volumes until a stable restart is achieved. Ministers have not committed to direct financial aid for suppliers, although engagement is ongoing.

What happens next

  • Teams are restoring affected IT systems and strengthening cyber defences. A phased restart will follow once it is safe to do so.
  • Government and industry bodies are monitoring supply chain impacts and discussing options with affected firms.
