Hankook Takes Performance and Electric Tyre Crowns at WhatTyre Awards 2025.

Hankook has secured two category wins at the WhatTyre Awards 2025, with Ventus evo named Performance Tyre of the Year and iON evo retaining Electric Car Tyre of the Year. The brand also featured on the SUV, winter and all‑season shortlists, underlining consistent product performance in the UK. The awards were revealed on 3 September 2025 and appear in the WhatTyre Buyers’ Guide.

Performance Tyre of the Year: Ventus evo

Hankook’s Ventus evo took Performance Tyre of the Year in its debut year. The tyre features AI‑assisted compound mixing to optimise silica distribution for wet grip, plus rigid sidewalls and tread blocks to support braking stability.

In 2025 testing, Ventus evo placed joint fourth in Auto Bild’s major summer performance comparison against 52 rivals, delivering the shortest wet braking distance measured and top average dry‑handling speed.

Electric Car Tyre of the Year: iON evo

iON evo repeated as Electric Car Tyre of the Year, following its 2024 success. The model is engineered for EV‑specific demands such as mass‑related load, torque response and cabin noise, balancing rolling resistance with wet‑grip performance.

Further Recognition Across SUV, Winter and All‑Season

  • SUV Tyre of the Year: Ventus Prime 3X - Highly Recommended.
  • Winter Tyre of the Year: Winter i*cept evo 3 - Finalist.
  • All‑Season (Car): Kinergy 4S2 - Finalist.
  • All‑Season (SUV): Kinergy 4S2 X - Finalist.

These results point to a broad performance footprint across key UK replacement segments.
