Yokohama extends ADVAN line with E-Class winter fitment and Porsche series deal.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has announced two significant developments for its premium ADVAN brand, with the expansion of its ultra-high performance winter tyre offering for Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the continuation of its motorsport partnership supplying racing tyres for Porsche one-make series in North America.

ADVAN WINTER V907 Gains Mercedes-Benz E-Class Approval

Yokohama's ADVAN WINTER V907 ultra-high performance winter tyre has been selected as an afterparts tyre for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class premium model series, excluding certain grades. The tyre sizes being offered are 245/45R19 102V for the front and 275/40R19 105V for the rear. The tyre has also been chosen as an afterparts option for the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ and is being sold mainly in Europe through Mercedes-Benz dealerships. The ADVAN WINTER V907 is not sold in Japan.

Launched last year, the ADVAN WINTER V907 represents the first new winter tyre to be developed for Yokohama Rubber's global flagship ADVAN brand in 17 years. The tyre combines technologies from Yokohama's popular ADVAN Sport series of ultra-high performance tyres with expertise accumulated through many years of winter tyre development. This results in a winter tyre that achieves an unusual combination of high performance on snow as well as in dry conditions.

In addition to excellent performance when driving on snow, the ADVAN WINTER V907 delivers excellent comfort and handling stability when driving on dry roads at the high speeds typical for high-power premium cars.

The afterparts tyres for the E-Class and the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ were jointly developed with Mercedes-AMG, part of the Mercedes-Benz Group. The tyres' sidewalls bear the "MO1A" mark that indicates Mercedes-AMG's approval. Yokohama Rubber has a strong track record of providing original equipment tyres for Mercedes-AMG vehicles, including the use of ADVAN Sport V107 tyres on Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4MATIC and Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé in recent years.

Yokohama Continues Porsche Racing Partnership in North America

Yokohama has also announced that its US subsidiary, Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC), will continue supplying ADVAN racing tyres as the control tyre for three Porsche one-make racing series in the United States during 2026. The series are the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama, the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West by Yokohama, and the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America.

All three series are USAC (United States Auto Club) sanctioned premier one-make racing series and serve as step-up category races in the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid. They will feature 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992.1) and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars with racing specifications. The 2026 North America series will have 14 races, USA West will have 12, and the Endurance Challenge will have four races.

The 2026 season will mark Yokohama Rubber's sixth consecutive season as the supplier of the control tyre for the North America and USA West series, and the third consecutive year for the Endurance Challenge. Yokohama will support the series with its ADVAN A005 tyres for use in dry conditions and ADVAN A006 tyres for wet conditions.

Yokohama's supply of ADVAN racing tyres for these one-make races featuring premium sports cars will strengthen the brand power and awareness of the ADVAN brand in the North American market. In addition to the three Porsche one-make racing series, Yokohama is also supplying its ADVAN racing tyres as the control tyre for the Mustang Cup, another one-make series that was launched in 2025.

Strategic Focus on Premium Products

Both announcements align with the consumer tyre strategy in Yokohama Rubber's three-year (2024–2026) medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2026 (YX2026), which aims to maximise the sales ratios of high-value-added tyres by expanding sales of the company's global flagship ADVAN brand, the GEOLANDAR brand of tyres for SUVs and pickup trucks, winter tyres, and 18-inch and larger tyres.

Yokohama Rubber is also implementing "Product and Regional Strategies" focused on strengthening the development, supply, and sale of tyres that respond to specific trends in each regional market. The company positions participation in motorsports activities as crucial to its effort to further strengthen the ADVAN and GEOLANDAR brands, and is participating in a wide variety of motorsports events around the globe, from top-category to grassroots events.

Yokohama’s push toward higher-value tyres has been visible in its financial updates, with record first-half 2025 revenue driven by premium lines and larger rim sizes, as reported in Tyre News’ analysis of the company’s 1H results. Motorsport visibility also remains a thread in our recent market “quick reads”, which flagged Yokohama’s continued Porsche Sprint Challenge role into 2026 as a signal for compound credibility in club and semi-pro paddocks.
