Vipal Rubber, one of the world's largest manufacturers of tyre retreading products, has secured the 2025 Retreaded Tyre award for its VT570 Tread, which was voted the best product of the year in the tyre retreading category.
The award was presented at a ceremony held on 13 November at the Vila Galé Palácio dos Arcos hotel in Oeiras, Portugal. Organised by Automotive magazine, the event brought together professionals from across the automotive sector, including representatives from fleet companies, public entities, and industry associations.
The award-winning VT570 tread was specifically developed to address the requirements of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market. Featuring a directional design, it delivers excellent traction in mixed applications across both on-road and off-road conditions. The tread is particularly well-suited to vehicles operating in diverse environments, from paved streets to irregular terrain, making it ideal for applications such as civil construction transport, refuse collection, and agricultural operations.
Fabrício Nedeff, Commercial Manager of Vipal for EMEA, who represented Vipal Europe at the ceremony, highlighted the significance of the award coinciding with the company's European milestone: "Celebrating this recognition in the year we celebrate 20 years of presence in Europe has a very special meaning, especially in Portugal, which is a strategic market for us and a reflection of the trust built along two decades. The recognition to the tread VT570 demonstrates how we remain strong in the mission of offering solutions that combine technology, performance and durability, following the evolution of fleets and the modern transportation needs."
Frederico Schmidt, General Manager of Vipal for EMEA, emphasised the award's broader implications for sustainable transport: "Receiving this award reflects the consistent work Vipal has conducted throughout the world and a recognition of a trajectory based on innovation, quality and commitment to sustainability. Tyre retreading is one of the most relevant activities for the circular economy, and Vipal is continuously investing in research and development to expand the environmental and economic benefits of this practice. Being among the highlights of the segment in the EMEA region reflects the dedication from our teams and partners for promoting an increasingly efficient and responsible sector."
With 52 years of operational experience, a presence in more than 90 countries, and a consolidated authorised network of partners, Vipal Rubber continues to reinforce its position as a leading global reference in tyre retreading. The company's ongoing commitment centres on contributing to more efficient, sustainable, and economically viable transportation solutions worldwide.
The award recognition underscores the growing importance of tyre retreading within the circular economy framework, as the industry continues to seek environmentally responsible alternatives whilst maintaining performance standards demanded by modern fleet operations.
