Remusa adds second Vipal machine to enhance retread efficiency

Spanish retreader Recauchutados Muralla S.A. (Remusa) has reinforced its partnership with Vipal Rubber by acquiring a second piece of equipment from the Brazilian manufacturer. The newly installed VR01 Smart DUO buffer is designed to increase retread production speed while reducing energy usage per unit.

Automated buffer offers high throughput and energy efficiency

Installed at Remusa's facility in Spain, the VR01 Smart DUO buffer features a compact, fully automated design that enables the buffing of up to 35 tyres per hour. The machine includes a rotating tower system that enhances productivity and optimises the rubber removal process. Vipal says the design ensures a high-quality finish on the tyre shoulders while also lowering operational costs due to improved efficiency.

The buffer is the second Vipal machine at the Remusa site, following the installation of a VOC760 CARGO extruder in late 2020. That earlier machine is used to apply cushioning gum during the retreading process, offering uniform application and optimised raw material use.

Long-standing collaboration underpins equipment investment

Remusa partner Enrique Rodriguez Leiva said the decision to invest in the new buffer aligns with the company’s strategy to expand production capabilities. "We are confident that this machine will provide greater efficiency, savings and strong results for our company," he commented.

Frederico Schmidt, General Manager of Vipal in Europe, highlighted Remusa's role as a long-term customer and early adopter of Vipal technology in Europe. "They were the first European retreader to acquire one of our machines, and our partnership spans more than 30 years," he said.

As energy costs and material efficiency become more critical, technologies that combine compact design with automated performance are likely to shape the future of tyre renewal operations across Europe.
