Vaculug Backs 2026 Transaid Cup Charity Football Tournament

Vaculug has announced its support for the 2026 Transaid Cup, a charity football tournament that brings together teams from across the transport and logistics sector to raise funds for vital road safety and healthcare initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa.

The event, which takes place on 9 July 2026 at Ilkeston Town Football Club in Derbyshire, is proudly hosted by Microlise and Libra Europe. Now in its latest iteration, the tournament has become a highlight in the industry calendar, combining competitive sport with charitable fundraising in support of Transaid's essential work.

Enhanced Format for 2026

Organisers have introduced an exciting new feature for 2026: teams that don't progress beyond the group stage will enter a brand-new secondary league, complete with its own semi-finals and final. This means every participating team will enjoy more matches and increased competitive action throughout the day, with multiple opportunities to claim silverware.

The seven-a-side tournament welcomes up to 16 teams, with one team permitted per company. Each squad can include up to 12 players, including substitutes, and must field at least one player who identifies as female. All participants must be aged 18 or over.

A Day of Football and Fundraising

Entry is priced at £1,200 per team, with organisations encouraged to undertake additional fundraising activities in the lead-up to the event. All teams are also asked to contribute a prize for the day's raffle.

Participants will benefit from food and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day, with alcoholic drinks available for purchase following the tournament's conclusion. Spectators are welcome to attend and support their colleagues.

Full timings for the day will be confirmed closer to the event, though organisers have confirmed it will be a full-day fixture. Players should note that studded footwear is required – flat-soled trainers are not permitted on the pitch.

Supporting Vital Work

The funds raised through the Transaid Cup support the charity's road safety and healthcare access programmes across sub-Saharan Africa, making a tangible difference to communities in need whilst offering industry participants an opportunity to build team spirit and contribute to a worthy cause.

With spaces limited to 16 teams, interested organisations are encouraged to register early to secure their place. Companies interested in sponsoring the event can explore various packages on offer.
