Uber adds discounted ENSO EV tyres in Marketplace for London.

Uber has launched a London-only offer giving its EV drivers 50% off ENSO high-performance, ultra-efficient EV tyres via the Uber Marketplace app. The tyres are engineered for popular models including Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, and aim to extend range while reducing tyre pollution. The move forms part of Uber’s wider collaboration with The Earthshot Prize and follows ongoing investment in driver electrification through the Clean Air Fund.

What’s on offer

  • The offer provides Uber EV drivers with 50% off ENSO EV tyres, accessible in the Uber Marketplace app.
  • ENSO says its EV tyres are designed to increase range, reduce tyre emissions and last longer than standard alternatives, lowering operating costs for high-mileage drivers.

“We’re proud to partner with ENSO as part of our ongoing mission to make it as easy and affordable as possible for drivers to go electric in the UK,” said Brit Grant, Head of Electrification at Uber UK. “Uber drivers are already switching to electric vehicles five times faster than the general public, and initiatives like this help us keep up that momentum. By reducing running costs and cutting emissions, this partnership supports our commitment to a cleaner, greener future for cities like London.”

Why it matters for fleets

  • ENSO was a 2023 Finalist in The Earthshot Prize’s Clean Our Air category — providing third-party validation for its focus on reducing tyre particulate pollution.
  • London remains a key market for Uber’s electrification push; discounted EV tyres help lower total cost of ownership for ride-hailing drivers covering high urban mileages.
  • ENSO has been expanding UK fleet availability, including approval as a replacement tyre supplier for LEVC taxis, relevant to mixed EV fleets.
“ENSO is playing its part in reducing costs and environmental impact for Uber drivers today,” said Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, CEO at ENSO. “ENSO develops A-A rated tyres specifically for EVs like Tesla’s to give drivers more range on a single charge, pay less upfront for their tyres and replace them less often, all of which helps Uber drivers earn more per mile.”

Fitments, availability and prior context

  • The initial focus includes Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, with ordering via the Uber Marketplace app or the dedicated portal for drivers.
  • ENSO’s recent activities covered by Tyre News include its EV-specific UHP range launch and UK taxi fitment approval, signalling greater availability for fleets. Read more: [ENSO launches EV-specific UHP tyres for premium EVs] and [ENSO approved as replacement supplier for LEVC taxis].
