TyreSafe partners with Farm Safety Foundation to raise rural tyre safety.

TyreSafe is collaborating with the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) to emphasise tyre safety across rural and agricultural settings during Farm Safety Week (1–5 July 2025). This campaign aims to reduce incidents by encouraging targeted checks of air pressure, condition and tread – vital for safe farming operations.

Why tyre safety matters in agriculture

Rural roads and off‑road farm environments pose unique tyre‑related hazards. Uneven fields, heavy equipment loads and wet conditions demand well‑maintained tyres for stability, grip and effective braking. Tyre failures not only risk safety, but can also cause delays in harvesting, livestock movement and supplies – costing farms valuable time and money.

Introducing the ACT message

During the campaign TyreSafe urges farmers to follow its ACT routine:

  • Air pressure – ensure correct inflation for load and terrain
  • Condition – check for damage such as cuts, bulges or sidewall ageing
  • Tread – confirm legal tread depth and sufficient grip

This simple check routine is designed to prevent avoidable tyre incidents in field and road settings.

Collaboration with Yellow Wellies

TyreSafe and the Farm Safety Foundation are integrating ACC tyre care messages into Yellow Wellies’ Farm Safety Week events, including inclusion in “The Little Book of Farm Safety”. The campaign will feature advice on ATV and tractor tyre maintenance, reinforcing safety in everyday rural work.

Ongoing support for rural tyre safety

Beyond Farm Safety Week, TyreSafe plans to expand resources targeted at agricultural operations. Guides will cover safe tyre use for a range of farm machinery – from tractors and harvesters to sprayers, trailers, 4x4s and quads. These tools will support farmers and contractors in maintaining legal, road‑ready tyres year‑round.
