Techking and autonomous mining truck developer Boonray have agreed to expand their existing supply partnership into joint tyre development, service cooperation and research linking vehicle, tyre and road data.
In an announcement published on 14 September, Techking said the companies would establish a joint R&D team to develop application-specific and smart tyres for Boonray’s battery-electric autonomous mining trucks.
The agreement builds on cooperation dating from 2024. Techking has supplied tyres and its Techking Tire Intelligent Control System (TIKS) to Boonray projects, alongside product testing, data tracking and on-site technical support.

According to Techking, its development work considers vehicle operation, road conditions and tyre performance. The company identifies sustained heavy loads, repeated stopping and starting, and continuous operation as demands influencing tyre load capacity, heat dissipation and wear resistance.
Under the expanded agreement, Techking will use its domestic and international service networks to provide local support for Boonray projects.
The companies also plan to explore a research platform combining vehicle parameters, tyre data and road conditions. Techking says this would use large models and co-simulation to involve tyre engineers earlier in vehicle design, helping define and match tyres during development.
That integrated platform remains a proposed research direction, rather than an announced operational system.
