Supertracker introduced its STR420 T 8-sensor CCD truck wheel aligner at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, marking a notable development in commercial wheel alignment equipment. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the new system is tailored for fast-paced workshops servicing a wide range of commercial vehicles.
At the core of the STR420 T is a multi-sensor CCD system that delivers full vehicle alignment readings in under a minute. The 8-sensor configuration allows real-time data collection with a claimed measurement accuracy of 0.01mm, reducing setup time and improving service throughput.
Each measuring head features built-in controls, so technicians can adjust alignments without returning to a central console. This streamlining, coupled with Supertracker’s BT2 wireless communication system, enables stable data transfer across large service bays and even outdoor setups.
The aligner is compatible with various lift types and workshop environments, including:
▪ Four-post lifts
▪ Platform scissor lifts
▪ Pits and level floors
▪ Two-post lifts with alignment tables
This flexibility makes it suitable for operations ranging from bus depots to mixed-fleet service centres.
Instead of traditional clamping systems, the STR420 T uses patented non-contact wheel hangers that reduce the risk of wheel damage and speed up the setup process. The unit is built with solid-state electronics and lithium-ion battery power for extended service life, backed by a 12-month warranty.
The STR420 T integrates easily into digital workshop systems. It connects to office printers, supports additional customer-facing screens, and allows remote diagnostic support from Supertracker. Annual database updates and customer vehicle history recall add further utility for repeat service customers.
Visitors at the CV Show were able to see the system in action at Stand 5/B38, where Supertracker conducted live demonstrations of the STR420 T and its full commercial wheel alignment range. The company showcased features aimed at reducing technician workload, increasing service speed, and maintaining high alignment standards across truck, coach, and agri-vehicle fleets.
The product launch also supports Supertracker’s broader "Proudly British" strategy, which prioritises UK-based manufacturing, rapid product development, and accessible technical support. This approach reflects the company’s investment in domestic capabilities and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the UK commercial vehicle aftermarket.
Supertracker’s CCD-based STR420 T system reflects the commercial tyre sector’s growing shift towards digitally integrated, rapid-service alignment solutions. With increasing demand for uptime and fleet efficiency, especially among electric and mixed-use commercial vehicles, workshop tools that reduce alignment time without sacrificing accuracy are likely to see continued investment. The focus on local production also aligns with broader trends in UK automotive supply chain resilience and sustainability.
