MAXAM Tire has appointed Chris Rhoades as Zone Sales Director – North, adding senior off-the-road and specialty tyre experience to its North American sales organisation. The move comes as the manufacturer continues to develop its aftermarket presence across industrial, construction and earthmoving applications.
Rhoades joins MAXAM with more than 25 years of tyre industry experience, including senior work in off-the-road markets with BKT Tires. His background includes regional growth planning, technical sales support and customer development across specialist tyre segments.
The appointment gives MAXAM a dedicated northern sales lead at a time when OTR suppliers are placing more emphasis on field support, dealer relationships and application knowledge.
At BKT, Rhoades worked across competitive OTR markets where product performance, site conditions and operating cost are central to buying decisions. He has also served on the Tire Industry Association board, with TIA naming him among directors elected for the 2024–2027 term.
Jimmy McDonnell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MAXAM Tire, said Rhoades brings “deep industry knowledge, proven leadership and a strong customer-first mindset” to the business. McDonnell added that his experience would support MAXAM’s work with customers and partners as the brand expands in the market.
For dealers and fleet-facing suppliers, the appointment points to MAXAM’s focus on regional execution rather than product launches alone. In specialist tyres, the sales role is often closely linked to application advice, dealer support and aftersales confidence.
That matters in heavier segments where downtime, tyre selection and casing performance can affect operating costs. Tyre News has previously reported on MAXAM’s MS303 scraper tyre range expansion, as well as the brand’s agricultural activity through its Tom Pemberton partnership in the UK and Ireland.
Rhoades will lead sales activity across the Northern region, working with customers and partners on service, support and market development.
