Kumho Tyre (UK) Ltd has appointed Luke Emery as Area Sales Manager for the South East of England, adding further experience to its UK sales team. The move comes as the manufacturer continues to expand its market presence and support demand for its growing product range.

A return to the business

Emery joins Kumho with more than 22 years of tyre industry experience spanning passenger car and motorsport sectors. His appointment also marks a return to the business at a time when Kumho says its newer products are gaining stronger acceptance in the UK market.

Richard Lyons, Managing Director at Kumho Tyre (UK) Ltd, said Emery’s arrival adds to the strengthening of the company’s team in recent months. He said the appointment reflects Kumho’s commitment to building a future-focused sales operation that can support customers and sustain growth for the brand across the UK.

Emery said he was pleased to return to Kumho at what he described as an important point for the business. He said the brand had developed a strong reputation for delivering tyres that combine value and performance, adding that market reaction to recent product launches had been positive.

Building regional support

In his new role, Emery will cover the South East of England and work closely with Kumho’s UK management and sales teams. The company said his focus will be on supporting customers across the region and helping to strengthen Kumho’s position in the replacement market.

The appointment also fits a wider pattern of team expansion at Kumho Tyre UK. Tyre News recently reported on the company’s move to strengthen its truck division with senior appointments, including Tony McHugh and Stewart Little, as it looked to accelerate growth in the commercial vehicle segment.

For the UK tyre trade, the appointment signals continued investment in frontline sales coverage as manufacturers compete for share in a challenging replacement market. Experienced regional managers remain important for supporting dealers, growing distribution and translating product launches into sell-through.

The latest hire also comes shortly after Kumho expanded its Ecsta range with new SUV products designed for electrified drivetrains, pointing to a broader push to align its portfolio with changing vehicle parc demand.
