Linglong Tire has claimed the price-performance title in the AvD 2025 all-season tyre test, size 205/45 R17. The Grip Master 4S achieved 4.1 out of 5 points against eight rival models after assessments on snow, wet and dry surfaces in August. AvD also notes the tyre will be marketed as Sport Master 4S in future, with identical specification.
AvD’s 205/45 R17 programme weighted wet and dry performance at 40% each and snow at 20%. Linglong posted 4.1/5 overall and was designated “Preis-Leistungs-Sieger” (price-performance winner). A listed set price of €305 contrasted with €530–€565 for several premium competitors tested alongside it. Full results are available via AvD’s published table.
AvD tested the Grip Master 4S and states the product will be offered as Sport Master 4S going forward; the construction is the same tyre.
Linglong says Sport Master 4S uses a directional V-shaped tread with 3D sipes and wide grooves to manage water and slush. A silica-rich compound aims to balance grip, abrasion and rolling resistance, while an optimised carcass supports stable cornering on dry roads. The tyre was developed by Linglong’s European R&D centre in Hanover and tested in Spain, China and Ivalo, Finland. Production is in China and at the company’s plant in Zrenjanin, Serbia; 60 sizes from 13–19 inches are on sale, with more planned.
“This test victory proves the high quality of our products, confirms our excellent development work in Europe and China, and underlines that high quality and an attractive price are very compatible,” said Wolf Fuder, Head of Marketing at Linglong in Europe.
Linglong’s European footprint continues to expand. Tyre News recently covered RSCI certification at the Zrenjanin facility, relevant to procurement and audit requirements across supply chains.
Linglong has also added European original-equipment visibility, including an OE fitment on Volkswagen’s latest Tiguan, signalling rising on-street visibility and replacement demand.
