Linglong Appoints Sherif Degheidy as MEA Specialty Tyres Director.

Linglong Tyre has appointed Sherif Degheidy as Director of Specialty Tyres for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, effective 9 February 2026.

In his newly created role, Degheidy will oversee strategy and sales for Linglong's Specialty Tyres division across the MEA territory, reporting directly to Jeffrey Hughes, Director EMEA. He will collaborate closely with product and marketing teams as Linglong works to establish itself as a leading specialty tyre provider in the region.

Extensive Industry Experience

Degheidy brings substantial expertise to the position, having spent the past twelve years at Goodyear, where he successfully led the Specialty Tyres business across the Middle East and East and West Africa. Most recently, he served as OTR Sales Manager at the American tyre giant.

Prior to Goodyear, Degheidy worked for KAL Tire and managed tyre operations at a gold mining operation in Egypt, giving him valuable experience across industrial, commercial and end-user perspectives within the sector.

Strategic Priorities

Speaking about his appointment, Degheidy said: "I am very much looking forward to my new role at Linglong Tire and hope to use my many years of experience in the tyre industry to achieve the ambitious goals together with my colleagues in the MEA region. Our most important task will be to optimise existing customer contacts and develop new customers and thus further strengthen our company's market position in the Middle East and Africa."

Jeffrey Hughes, Director OTR EMEA, welcomed the appointment: "We are delighted to welcome Sherif to the MEA team as Sales Director OTR. He brings a wealth of experience in the Middle East and African markets, and his early work as a site manager of a gold mine in Egypt gives him a unique perspective on how to engage customers, distributors and end users. Over the past twelve years, he has been instrumental in driving and growing a premier manufacturer's business, and we look forward to him now doing the same for Linglong."

An Egyptian citizen, Degheidy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Power Engineering.

The appointment forms part of Linglong's continued expansion in the specialty tyre sector as the Chinese manufacturer seeks to strengthen its presence in key international markets.
