Kevin Burke Tyres (KBT) will celebrate a significant milestone in 2025, marking 30 years in business in Athenry, County Galway.
From modest beginnings at the Arch Service Station to a move to a purpose-built facility in Furzypark, Athenry, the company has grown into a well-established and trusted tyre and wheel supplier serving customers both locally and throughout Ireland.
The journey began when Kevin Burke took over the lease of a local service station in Athenry, steadily building a loyal customer base through reliable service, personal dedication, and expert knowledge of the tyre trade. Over time, KBT expanded to offer a comprehensive range of tyre brands and services for all applications, including passenger cars, vans, 4x4s, trucks, and agricultural and industrial vehicles. The company also reconditions rims and supplies specialist rims to the agricultural and original equipment markets.

Today, KBT operates three retail depots, a dedicated wheel division, and a large-scale wholesale business.Although the tyre industry has evolved significantly over the past three decades, from technological advances to shifting customer expectations, KBT’s core values have remained unchanged.
“The business has grown, but the focus on quality service and looking after customers is still at the heart of everything we do,” says Kevin Burke.
Based in a region that serves both rural and urban communities, KBT has earned a strong reputation among private motorists, commercial fleets, and farmers. Many customers have remained loyal across generations, highlighting the consistent service and trust the company has built over time.
Looking Ahead While Staying True to Its Roots
KBT continues to invest in its services and product offering, maintaining its local identity while responding to the demands of a modern and fast-changing market. The company plans to further strengthen its capabilities to meet the needs of emerging vehicle technologies and evolving customer expectations.
The 30th anniversary is both a celebration of what has been achieved and an opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the journey, from loyal customers to dedicated staff.
