Supplied by long-time partners at Gaslow International, the Tyron MultiBands are a key line of defence in ensuring these high-risk vehicles remain mobile during critical operations, even when the unexpected strikes in the form of tyre damage or deflation.
The Tyron MultiBand might be small, but its role is huge. Fitted securely inside the wheel well, it acts as a safety buffer in the event of sudden air loss. If a tyre is deflated or even blown out entirely, the band prevents the tyre bead from slipping into the rim, allowing the driver to maintain steering, braking, and crucially control.
That means officers can carry on driving to a secure location instead of being stranded mid-mission -- a vital safeguard when operating in potentially volatile environments.
This isn't the first time these bands have been used on police vehicles. In fact, well over 1,000 vehicle sets have already been deployed across the country. This latest round of fitments reinforces their importance in emergency fleet readiness and Hometyre's ability to deliver expert high-volume installation.
The fitting work was carried out on-site at an undisclosed location, with Hometyre technicians working quickly and efficiently.
