Goodyear adds 112 new SKUs to its UltraGrip Performance 3 and Ice 3 ranges for 2025, enhancing EV and SUV winter tyre coverage.

Goodyear has announced significant expansions to its UltraGrip winter tyre range, with 112 new SKUs scheduled for release in 2025. The move marks the company’s most extensive winter line-up to date and aims to strengthen its offering for premium vehicles, particularly electric vehicles (EVs) and SUVs across Europe and the Nordic markets.

Largest-Ever Winter Offering from Goodyear

The expansion is led by the UltraGrip Performance 3, which will gain 68 new SKUs, bringing the total to 269. Designed for high performance in winter conditions, the tyre is now available in sizes from 14 to 22 inches, with 84% of the fitments measuring 19 inches or above—indicating a clear focus on larger and premium vehicles. Many of these new sizes are already available.

This product targets a wide range of modern vehicles, including key EV models like the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer, BMW i5, and Volvo EC40 and EX40. Optimised for both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles, the UltraGrip Performance 3 is engineered to reduce rolling resistance and interior noise—two performance traits especially valued in EVs.

The tyre features Snow Protect Technology and Wet Grip+, which improve traction and braking in cold, wet, or snowy conditions. Since its 2023 launch, it has earned four test wins and 11 podium finishes in independent tyre tests, including a win in ADAC’s 2024 winter tyre test.

Nordic-Specific UltraGrip Ice 3 Also Grows

Goodyear is also expanding its UltraGrip Ice 3 range by 44 SKUs, increasing the total to 106. Over half of the new additions (25 SKUs) represent new size coverage, reflecting Goodyear’s response to growing demand in Nordic markets where studless winter tyres dominate.

The UltraGrip Ice 3 covers wheel sizes from 15 to 22 inches, suiting a variety of modern vehicles including the Volvo EX90 and Audi Q6 e-tron. Developed specifically for the harsh Nordic winter, the tyre uses a compound that remains 35% softer than its predecessor at -30°C, improving grip and braking in freezing conditions.

Increased contact area—through Ice Handling+ Technology—enhances stability on icy surfaces, particularly for heavier SUVs. Combined with Snow Braking and Ice Grip features, the Ice 3 is tailored to meet the extreme performance requirements of Northern Europe.

Strategic Response to Growing EV and SUV Market

Sonia Leneveu, Goodyear’s Director of Marketing Consumer EMEA, said the expansion responds to evolving driver needs and the growing popularity of EVs and SUVs:

“Goodyear has made another step forward in expanding the available fitments of this Nordic-specific tyre… Equipping premium winter tyres like Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 3 is the ideal way to enhance your driving experience on road trips this winter.”
