Giti Tire has announced the expansion of its AdvanZtech EV Ready portfolio with the introduction of the GitiWinterW2, the first winter tyre in the programme designed specifically for electric vehicles, hybrids and traditional ICE vehicles.
Available to order now for the 2025/26 winter season, the new product comprises 17 sizes spanning 15" to 20" rim diameters, each featuring the distinctive AdvanZtech EV Ready sidewall logo to signify compatibility across internal combustion engine (ICE), mild and plug-in hybrid (MHEV and PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) vehicles.
The size range has been developed to cover applications from compact city cars such as the Fiat 500e through to the Tesla Model 3, as well as popular SUVs including the best-selling VW Tiguan and Volvo XC60 PHEV models.
According to Giti Tire, each tyre in the GitiWinterW2 range has been fine-tuned prior to selection to accommodate the specific requirements of electrified powertrains, including torque stress management for improved control and low rolling resistance for extended mileage—all without compromising snow and wet performance characteristics.
The manufacturer highlights three key achievements for the GitiWinterW2: a quiet and comfortable ride, safety without worry, and precise control.
The product was designed and engineered utilising AdvanZtech, Giti Tire's globally-integrated, company-wide R&D system, at the manufacturer's European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR at Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), commented: "The Giti brand was among the first in the mid-market to introduce an EV ready concept, ensuring maximum flexibility and product clarity for dealers and peace of mind for drivers.
"As is proven, winter can have an impact on the performance of part-electric and electric vehicles with lower temperatures reducing battery range and immediate torque levels being tricky on slippery roads—the Giti AdvanZtech EV Ready GitiWinterW2 goes a long way to addressing these issues."
The Giti AdvanZtech EV Ready tyre strategy was first unveiled in August 2024 with the launch of two summer patterns: the GitiSportS2 and GitiSynergyH2. At the time, the manufacturer described the initiative as "an electrifying offer".
With the addition of the GitiWinterW2, Giti Tire now offers year-round coverage for dealers and consumers seeking tyres specifically engineered to meet the demands of modern electrified vehicles whilst maintaining compatibility with traditional combustion engines.
