VW and Giti Launch Zero-Emission ID. Buzz World Tour.

Record-Breaking Journey Showcases EV Durability and Global Reach

Giti Tire is partnering with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) and Challenge4 in an ambitious attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most countries visited in a zero-emission vehicle. The vehicle of choice is the all-electric VW ID. Buzz, fitted with GitiSynergyH2 tyres.

The journey began on 1 July from VWCV headquarters in Hannover, Germany, and will span over 80,000 kilometres and around 75 countries across six continents. The extensive route includes Europe, Central Asia, Africa, Oceania, Asia, Latin America and North America, and is expected to take more than eight months.

GitiSynergyH2 Tyres Demonstrate Long-Distance EV Performance

The ID. Buzz is equipped with GitiSynergyH2 tyres — 235/60 R18 on the front and 255/55 R18 on the rear — as part of an OE fitment deal launched in September 2023. This marked Giti's first EV-specific OE nomination in Europe.

The tyres are AA-rated and incorporate a new tread compound developed to balance low rolling resistance with safety and wear characteristics. Designed specifically to meet EV requirements, they support longer ranges without compromising on braking or handling performance in both wet and dry conditions.

Community Engagement Along the Route

Throughout the journey, driver and Challenge4 founder Rainer Zietlow, who already holds eight Guinness World Records, will engage with the VW community through media events, fan meet-ups, and collaborations with Giti distributors.

Zietlow emphasised the challenge's focus on endurance, efficiency and sustainability, noting his pride in selecting Giti as the tyre partner.

Strengthening Giti's Global Brand and OE Credentials

Giti Tire Europe Marketing Director Stefan Brohs said the tour reinforces Giti's position in EV tyre technology and underlines its OE capabilities. The project also offers a platform for building brand presence through storytelling and distributor engagement across multiple regions.

Giti has been an OE supplier to the Volkswagen Group for over 15 years, covering models across the VW, Seat and Skoda brands in passenger car, SUV and commercial vehicle segments.
