ENSO targets global growth with appointment of new Managing Director.

ENSO has announced the appointment of Dominic Clark as its new Managing Director, as the company aims to expand its reach in the electric vehicle (EV) tyre market. Clark brings decades of experience from senior roles across the tyre sector, including leadership positions at Michelin, BF Goodrich and Direct Tyre Management.

The London-based firm specialises in developing lower-pollution tyres for EVs, with a focus on improved durability and energy efficiency. Clark’s appointment is expected to strengthen ENSO’s position in the growing market for EV-optimised tyres, both in the UK and internationally.

Industry veteran joins at pivotal growth stage

ENSO’s Founder and CEO, Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, said the company’s progress to date makes this an ideal moment to welcome Clark into the leadership team. Citing Clark’s sector-wide reputation for delivering sustainable growth, Erlendsson emphasised the importance of building on recent momentum as the business scales its manufacturing capabilities.

Clark brings a combination of corporate and entrepreneurial experience. He previously founded Tyres on the Drive, an on-demand tyre fitting service that emerged from his dissatisfaction with traditional industry models. More recently, he served as Chief Transformation and Technology Officer at Direct Tyre Management, where he focused on digital advancement and operational change.

Strategic expertise for sustainable tyre innovation

ENSO’s mission to reduce tyre pollution and improve vehicle efficiency aligns closely with Clark’s career focus on challenging legacy practices. His background in transformation and team development is expected to help drive forward ENSO’s production of tyres specifically engineered for electric cars.

Commenting on his new role, Clark said he was “delighted to join ENSO at such an exciting time,” highlighting the opportunity to “disrupt the global tyre industry” while advancing sustainability goals.
