Bridgestone Rolls Out Autumn Tyre Safety Push With Driver Rewards

Bridgestone Incentivises Safer Driving With Seasonal Packs and Prize Draw.

Bridgestone has launched a UK-wide “Stay Safe This Autumn” initiative to coincide with National Tyre Safety Month, combining practical road-safety advice with an incentive-led promotion. Drivers purchasing two or more Bridgestone tyres in October or November receive a winter car care pack, while the company renews its call for regular tyre checks as clocks go back on Sunday 26 October 2025.

A seasonal nudge to act

The promotion offers thousands of motorists a complimentary bundle containing cold-weather essentials such as a tread-depth gauge, ice scraper and locking wheel-nut bag. Customers buying two or more car, 4x4 or van tyres during the period are also entered automatically into a national draw to win one of two £5,000 cash prizes, adding an extra prompt to prioritise maintenance as nights draw in.

What the research shows

Bridgestone says too many drivers still delay safety-critical purchases. In a survey of 2,000 UK motorists, 63% admitted waiting until an MOT failure to replace tyres, 23% said they never consider the risks of worn tyres, and 11% wait until tyres are “bald” before changing them.

The company frames the giveaway as a practical step to make routine checks easier during autumn and winter.

“With tyres being the only point of contact with the road, worn or underinflated tyres can significantly increase accident risk,” said Drew Chapman, Director of Consumer Product Sales, UK. “Regular checks can literally save lives.” The call aligns with Bridgestone’s ongoing “Be a Road Safety Hero” activity, which has delivered more than 4,500 free inspections at UK events to date.

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) figures cited by safety groups show a record 2.15 million MOT failures linked to tyre defects in 2023–24, with more than 750,000 of those vehicles previously flagged for tyre advisories. The trend underscores the importance of monthly pressure and tread checks as wetter, darker conditions arrive.

Simple steps still carry weight

The advice remains straightforward: inspect tyres monthly and before long trips, keep pressures to the vehicle placard, and replace tyres well before the 1.6mm legal minimum. During the summer getaway, Bridgestone issued the same reminder, pointing to the safety and economic costs of tyre-related incidents — context that remains relevant as winter approaches.
