Alliance Tire Group has officially launched its Agri Star II Row Crop tyre at Agritechnica 2025, extending the benefits of its proven Stratified Layer Technology to the sprayer segment for the first time.
The new tyre is designed to address the evolving demands of modern agriculture, where farmers face increasing pressure to complete field work in shorter timeframes due to climate change. With a wider tread width to reduce soil compaction and an E-speed rating enabling speeds of up to 70 km/h, the Agri Star II Row Crop is engineered for high-speed sprayer operations whilst maintaining traction throughout its service life.
Speaking at Alliance's Agritechnica press conference, Stefan Vogelsang, a German farmer and content creator from Westphalia, highlighted the industry's dilemma: "We just have to complete the same field work in ever shorter time frames due to the changes in climate. That means larger machines and more pressure on the soil – but I would never accept a loss of yield due to soil damage."
UK farmer and contractor Olly Harrison emphasised the changing work patterns affecting tyre requirements: "Twenty years ago, a tyre spent 10% of its time on the road, now it is up to 40%. That's why I need excellent roadability from a tyre that still performs at low pressure in the field – a challenge only quality VF tyres like Agriflex+ can solve."
Harrison also praised Alliance's warranty coverage, noting the company's confidence in backing both its standard and VF tyre ranges with best-in-class guarantees.

Angelo Noronha, president and CEO of Yokohama ATG, explained the engineering philosophy behind Alliance's warranty commitments: "Alliance tyres are 14 to 17 percent heavier than those of the competition because of components like the stubble guard or the stratified layers." Rather than compromising on materials to reduce weight, Alliance invests in enhanced strength and durability.
The Agri Star II Row Crop builds upon technology already proven in over one million Agri Star II tyres sold globally. The Stratified Layer Technology features a dual-layer lug construction: the top layer delivers optimal grip when new, whilst the bottom layer activates after approximately 40% wear, maintaining traction performance comparable to a new tyre.
Engineered specifically for sprayers and equipment operating between narrow crop rows, the new line offers an extensive size range from 24 to 54 inches, accommodating various machine types from sprayers to specialised tractors. The E-speed rating makes the tyre suitable for modern farming operations where equipment increasingly travels at higher speeds between fields and on public roads.
The combination of wider tread width for reduced soil compaction and sustained traction performance addresses the dual challenges facing modern agriculture: the need for speed and efficiency alongside soil health preservation.
