Pirelli and Ciclotte Launch Motorsport-Inspired Design Exercise Bike

Fitness enthusiasts and cycling enthusiasts alike are in for a treat as Pirelli and Ciclotte have teamed up to create an exercise bike that combines form, function, and motorsport-inspired design.

The first Pirelli-branded Ciclotte Bike made by Multi Design was unveiled during Milan’s Design Week and is the result of the collaboration between two Italian companies. This version of the design exercise bike is distinguished by elements derived from motorsport, and it promises to reproduce road riding indoors.

The Ciclotte Bike, designed by Luca Schieppati, differs from traditional exercise bikes in several ways. The design exercise bike is conceived to faithfully reproduce the feeling of pedaling a road bike, thanks to a multiple ratio transmission, an electromagnetic resistance system, and a frame that can flex laterally with each push of the pedals. There is also a narrow gap between the pedals, just like a racing bike, and the bike features Bluetooth connectivity for immersive training experiences that simulate real roads, as well as training programs, spinning classes, and multi-user challenges.

The bike combines a carefully studied ergonomic layout and prestigious materials, including carbon and steel. The compact size of the bike allows it to be placed in different areas and used for both fitness training and to complement home decor.

The Pirelli edition of the Ciclotte Bike stands out with graphics that mirror the layout of the tires used in the world’s most prestigious car competition of which Pirelli is the sole supplier. These graphics are available in five colors, just like a real race weekend: white 'hard,' yellow 'medium,' red 'soft,' green, and blue for “rain.” For the first time, Ciclotte will also have handlebar grips in rubber, for an easier grip during the most intense workouts.

Yellow and red versions of the new bikes were displayed on Thursday, April 20th, during two events that were part of the Fuorisalone–Milan Design Week, at the Excelsior Hotel Gallia and the Illulian boutique.

“MULTI-DESIGN licensee for the trademarks Pirelli and P ZERO for the exercise bike,” said a representative for the company.
