Ascenso Sponsored Clay Pigeon Shooter Kallum Burrell has had a strong start to the year with a great performance in his first big competition of the season. The competition was the first of the England Sporting Selection Shoots, held on March 18th and 19th. Kallum finished the first day with a score of 87/100, which earned him the title of Top Junior for the day. He finished the weekend overall as 2nd in the Juniors and joint 45th overall out of 359 competitors.
Kallum, who comes from a farming background and is a keen member of the Young Farmers, has been sponsored by Ascenso Tyres UK since December 2022. Ascenso's key customers are in the farming industry, and supporting Kallum, who is also from a farming background, seemed like a natural fit. Kallum has a busy six months ahead of him, with competitions booked from now until September. These include the England Sporting Selection Shoots, GB Selection Shoots, and Championships.
Kallum has been working with his new coach, Ed Solomons, in the run-up to the season, and has also been utilising his university scholarship in Sports and Exercise Science to ensure he is best prepared for the season ahead. The scholarship provides Kallum with nutritional, psychological, and strength and conditioning support.
