Yokohama’s U.S.-Built 116R Steer Tyre Now Available in Three Sizes.

Yokohama Tire has introduced its new 116R™ all-position steer tyre, developed specifically for regional and super-regional fleets. Manufactured at the company’s commercial tyre facility in Mississippi, the tyre is now available in the U.S. market and comes in three standard sizes: 11R22.5, 295/75R22.5, and 11R24.5.

The tyre is backed by a 7-year unlimited retread casing warranty, aligning with Yokohama’s focus on lifecycle value and durability for commercial operators.

Engineered for Regional Durability and Fuel Efficiency

Tread Design Focused on Wear and Traction

The 116R features solid shoulder ribs to resist tearing and reduce irregular wear, while multi-siped rib edges and deep siping contribute to longer tread life and enhanced grip throughout the tyre’s usable life.

Fuel-Saving Compound

A high centre rib and low rolling resistance compound help the 116R exceed greenhouse gas standards ahead of MY2027 GHG Phase II benchmarks, offering fleets a compliance-ready option for improving fuel economy in regional transport operations.

Sizes and Fitment Availability

The 116R is available in:

  • 11R22.5
  • 295/75R22.5
  • 11R24.5

All three configurations are designed for use in regional and super-regional applications, with a casing construction suitable for multiple retread cycles.

With stricter emissions targets influencing fleet decisions, tyres like the 116R reflect how manufacturers are integrating GHG standards into product development while reinforcing domestic production capacity.
