Point S UK has announced a bold expansion plan to become the UK’s largest independent automotive service network by 2035. The declaration, made by Managing Director Ali Yilmaz during the company’s annual conference, comes as the industry undergoes significant changes due to electrification and market shifts.
With over 340 service locations across the country, Point S UK is experiencing rapid growth as independent repair centres seek new revenue streams in response to changing vehicle maintenance needs. Yilmaz believes the current market conditions present a “fertile planting ground” for expansion, particularly as competitors exit or pivot their business models.
The UK’s independent service sector currently represents around one-third of the market, and Yilmaz expects this to increase as workshops adapt to electric vehicle (EV) technology.
“The independent sector already represents approximately one-third of the UK market and continues to grow. We’re observing repair centres evolving their business models in response to electrification. With electric vehicles requiring less mechanical servicing, many workshops are focusing on tyres, diagnostics and other forms of vehicle maintenance as their future profit centres.”
This trend is playing a crucial role in Point S UK’s expansion, particularly as traditional tyre retailers shrink their footprint or transition to mobile services.
Unlike some competitors who are scaling back physical locations in favour of mobile tyre fitting and servicing, Point S believes in maintaining a strong presence through full-service automotive centres.
“In today’s digital landscape, customers increasingly value friendly, personal and convenient in-person service. Vehicles represent one of life’s most significant investments, and people want to establish trust with those safeguarding these assets. The UK market presents exceptional growth opportunities for Point S to expand and become the nation’s largest automotive service network.” – Ali Yilmaz, Managing Director, Point S UK
Point S International, already the world’s largest independent tyre dealer and vehicle maintenance network, operates in 51 countries across five continents. Its UK division, established in 2011, is leveraging this global strength to scale its footprint locally.
At the annual conference, Point S UK revealed several key initiatives that will support its growth ambitions in 2025, including:
📌 A major new product launch to enhance its offering
📌 More customer events to strengthen relationships and brand awareness
📌 Continued innovation in the Point S tyre range and network programme
With favourable market conditions, a shift in repair centre business models, and evolving customer needs, Point S UK is positioning itself as the leading independent network for the future of automotive servicing.
