NEXEN TIRE retains EcoVadis Gold, ranking in top 3% for ESG practices globally.

NEXEN TIRE has once again earned a Gold rating from EcoVadis, positioning the South Korean tyre manufacturer among the top 3% of over 150,000 companies assessed for sustainability performance worldwide. The achievement highlights consistent progress in environmental responsibility, human rights, ethical governance, and sustainable procurement.

ESG Assessment Highlights Strong Progress

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies across four categories: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. NEXEN TIRE showed balanced performance across all areas, with key initiatives contributing to its high score.

Environmental Transparency and Global Commitments

In the Environment category, NEXEN TIRE was recognised for its participation in leading sustainability initiatives such as:
▪ The Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR)
▪ UN Global Compact (UNGC)
▪ Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The company also received praise for transparent reporting on greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes and its investment in climate education.

Human Rights Policy Strengthened

NEXEN TIRE’s alignment with international labour and human rights standards, including frameworks from the UN and ILO, contributed to its strong rating in the Labour & Human Rights category. The company has also introduced internal assessments to identify and mitigate human rights risks in its operations.

Ethical Risk Management and Supplier Oversight

In the Ethics category, the company has enhanced internal controls to support risk detection and response. Meanwhile, improvements in sustainable procurement practices, including supplier ESG assessments and audits, further contributed to the overall score.

CEO Affirms Global ESG Strategy

Commenting on the result, CEO John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim said the Gold rating reflects NEXEN TIRE’s commitment to transparency and responsible business practices across its global operations.

NEXEN TIRE’s continued recognition by EcoVadis signals growing pressure across the tyre industry to formalise ESG reporting and embed sustainability in core operations. With emissions disclosure, ethical sourcing, and supply chain oversight gaining traction globally, tyre manufacturers are increasingly expected to demonstrate verified progress, especially by OEM customers and regulators. The industry-wide shift towards transparent, measurable sustainability is now shaping product development and procurement at every level.
