Nexen Tire has launched the N'Fera Sport 2 in Europe, replacing its established N'Fera Sport ultra-high-performance summer tyre. The manufacturer is claiming measurable improvements in braking, handling and structural rigidity, although the figures currently available come from Nexen's own comparative testing rather than independent tyre tests.
Nexen Tire has introduced the N'Fera Sport 2 to the European market as the successor to its N'Fera Sport ultra-high-performance summer tyre.
The new tyre receives an updated tread pattern and revised construction, with Nexen targeting greater stability, more precise steering and improved wet and dry performance. The company says structural rigidity has increased by 15% compared with the outgoing N'Fera Sport.
Changes include wider outer tread blocks, increased sidewall rigidity and what Nexen calls Chamfer Technology, which uses shaped block edges intended to increase the available contact area during braking and cornering. Multi-width grooves are also designed to improve water evacuation.
Nexen says the combination has produced a 10% improvement in cornering stiffness compared with the previous model. The company also claims the tyre's outer tread blocks are 5% wider, while the rim protector has been widened by 7%.
Performance comparisons were carried out at the IDIADA proving ground in Spain. According to Nexen's testing, the N'Fera Sport 2 achieved an 11% reduction in wet braking distance and a 2% reduction in dry braking distance compared with its predecessor.
The manufacturer also reports a 7% improvement in wet and dry handling performance and the 10% increase in cornering stiffness.
Those figures should, however, be treated as manufacturer test claims rather than independent comparative results. Details including the tyre sizes, vehicle, precise test conditions and full methodology behind the IDIADA comparison have not yet been disclosed in the information available to TNM.
Jeff Roh, Vice President of Europe Sales & Marketing at Nexen Tire, said the company expected the new product to build on the N'Fera Sport and improve driving performance through the revised tread design.
The tyre being replaced has built up a substantial independent testing record in Europe, although results have varied between test programmes and sizes.
In a 2026 Auto Bild summer tyre test in 245/45 R19, the N'Fera Sport finished ninth out of 20 tyres and received a "good" assessment, with particularly competitive braking performance but less precise handling response. In a separate 2026 ACE test of 225/40 R18 UHP tyres, it finished tenth out of ten, while still receiving a "recommended" rating. That test found strong aquaplaning, noise and rolling-resistance performance but weaker braking results.
The variation provides useful context for Nexen's emphasis on braking, handling and stiffness in the replacement product. Independent testing of the N'Fera Sport 2 will ultimately show how successfully those claimed improvements translate against current UHP competitors.
The launch also comes as Nexen expands its European business and premium OE presence. The company reported European quarterly revenue above KRW400 billion for the first time in the second quarter of 2026, while earlier this month it said it was supplying original-equipment tyres for approximately 120 vehicle models across nearly 30 automotive brands worldwide.
European market availability, the complete size range and EU tyre-label specifications for the N'Fera Sport 2 have not yet been confirmed by Nexen to TNM.
