Lapin Kumi, the Finnish tyre services chain operating under the Citira Group, has acquired Rengas-Heikki, a well-established tyre shop in Oulu, northern Finland, as part of its continued expansion across the Nordic region.
The acquisition reinforces Lapin Kumi's already significant presence in the Oulu area, where it has been operating for fifteen years. The move is designed to increase capacity in the passenger vehicle segment whilst offering customers an improved service proposition and wider product range.
Rengas-Heikki, which was founded in 1999, has built a strong reputation as a customer-focused tyre service provider in Oulu over more than two decades of trading. The business has become an integral part of the local tyre retail landscape in northern Finland.
In a continuity-focused approach to the acquisition, the existing staff and management team will remain with the business. Former owners Petri and Ilpo Haipus will continue in their current roles, ensuring a smooth transition for customers and employees alike. The operation will now trade under the Lapin Kumi brand.
The deal forms part of Citira's broader strategic approach to growth in Finland and across the wider Nordic tyre service market. The group has been actively pursuing regional expansion through targeted mergers and acquisitions, with this latest transaction reinforcing its footprint in the Finnish market.
The acquisition strategy allows Citira to strengthen its market position whilst retaining local expertise and customer relationships that have been built up over many years of independent operation.
