Bridgestone’s Next-Gen UHP Tyre Adds Mileage, Grip and EV Readiness.

Bridgestone has announced the launch of its latest ultra-high-performance tyre, the Potenza Sport EVO with ENLITEN Technology, building on the success of the award-winning Potenza Sport with significant improvements across key performance metrics.

The new tyre delivers exceptional high-speed control and vehicle stability, whilst achieving a best-in-class EU label A-grade for wet grip. According to Bridgestone, the Potenza Sport EVO offers a five per cent shorter braking distance on wet roads and a two per cent improvement in dry braking performance compared to its predecessor.

Beyond enhanced safety performance, the tyre demonstrates considerable gains in longevity, delivering 15 per cent greater mileage than the Potenza Sport – translating to approximately 6,000 additional kilometres of use. Efficiency improvements are equally impressive, with up to a six per cent reduction in rolling resistance, benefiting both fuel economy for conventional vehicles and extending driving range for electric vehicles.

"The new Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO with ENLITEN Technology is built for high-performance vehicles and drivers, whatever the powertrain," said Stefano Sanchini, Vice President Consumer Replacement at Bridgestone EMEA. "Building on the success of the remarkable Potenza Sport – a tyre chosen as original equipment by many of the world's most prestigious car brands, like Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche – it continues the proud Potenza family legacy."

The performance and sustainability enhancements are enabled by Bridgestone's ENLITEN Technology, which the manufacturer describes as a next-generation approach to tyre engineering. The technology allows for customised performance whilst addressing sustainability concerns, and ensures the Potenza Sport EVO is fully EV-ready, meeting the specific requirements of both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles.

Key technical features include a high-stiffness compound for enhanced cornering stability and high-speed manoeuvres, supported by hybrid crown reinforcement and a stiff carcass construction. The tyre's sporty profile features an asymmetric wall angle design for optimal control.

The wet performance is achieved through a bespoke compound with optimised inorganic fillers, combined with precisely engineered rib and void patterns. An optimised polymer with improved polymer-filler interaction contributes to the tyre's enhanced abrasion resistance and longevity.

Developed and produced in Europe, the Potenza Sport EVO will be available in 139 sizes across the 17-23-inch range – 40 more sizes than its predecessor – providing 92 per cent coverage of the sport tyre market. This expanded range ensures compatibility with a wider array of high-performance vehicles regardless of powertrain.

The tyre will launch in two phases, with 92 sizes becoming available from January 2026, and the remaining sizes following in 2027. The Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO with ENLITEN Technology will be available across multiple global markets.
