Women Automotive Network Celebrates Industry Leaders with Prestigious Awards

The automotive industry witnessed a historic moment on 20th September as the first-ever Women Automotive Awards were announced. Hosted by the Women Automotive Network, the awards ceremony took place at the Forum am Schlosspark, following the record-breaking Women Automotive Summit.

The awards aimed to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of professionals in the automotive sector. The nominees, all of whom were nominated by their peers, showcased the depth of talent and commitment within the industry.


The winners, judged by the neutral advisory board of the Women Automotive Network, were:

• Diversity Champion: Arlena Amiri, Head of Advanced Engineering, Polestar

• Most Inspiring Member: Sara Aghaeian, Business Process Manager, Volvo

• Leadership: Marie-Fleur Revel, Managing Director, XL2 by Audi & Capgemini

• Empowerment – The Leg-Up Award!: Katharina Hopp, Senior Vice President Business Team Mobility.

• Brightest Star: Roberta Avelino, Methods Engineer, Audi
• Male Advocate: Simon Daniel, Head of SDLC and SRC, JLR

The Women Automotive Network has been at the forefront of advocating for gender equality and inclusivity within the automotive industry. Through its various initiatives, the network offers numerous networking opportunities and benefits to its members, aiming to foster open conversations and raise awareness about the importance of diversity.

The idea for the Women Automotive Awards stemmed from the network's regular interactions with its members. Recognising a collective desire to celebrate the achievements of women in the sector, the Women Automotive Network took the initiative to create these much-anticipated awards.

Stephanie May, commercial director of Women Automotive Network, expressed her sentiments on the occasion, stating, “Firstly we’d like to offer our sincere congratulations to not only all of the worthy winners of our inaugural award ceremony, but also to all of those shortlisted. The competition was fierce, and the decision was incredibly close across the board. Our aim is to celebrate diversity in the workplace and honour those who have set new benchmarks with their talent and dedication. This ceremony has allowed us to do just that.”
