Trelleborg, has launched its most sustainable tyre yet, the TM1 ECO POWER, at Agritechnica 2023. The announcement came during a press conference led by industry experts, marking a significant step forward in tyre technology and sustainable farming practices.
Paolo Pompei, President & CEO at Yokohama TWS, initiated the conference with an insightful overview of Trelleborg’s journey in the tyre industry. He emphasised the brand's commitment to sustainability and connectivity, which are pivotal in shaping the future of tyre technologies for modern agriculture.
The highlight of the event was the debut of the TM1 ECO POWER tyre by Gianluca Abbati, Vice President of Technology & Innovation at Trelleborg. This launch signals a new era in tyre technology, positioning the TM1 ECO POWER as Trelleborg's most eco-friendly tyre to date.
Abbati, while presenting the new tyre, shared remarkable data, “Performance comparison tests against premium agricultural tyres show that the TM1 ECO POWER has up to 47% lower rolling resistance, with up to 3% significant savings in fuel and battery consumption on electric tractors. The innovative tyre design and its self-cleaning properties have been proven to provide 26% greater traction on hard soil and 12% extra operator comfort.” These features were met with positive reactions from journalists and visitors alike.
In addition to the tyre launch, Abbati introduced the latest advancements in the Trelleborg ATMS (Adaptive Tyre Management System). This system, equipped with tyre-mounted sensors, provides real-time data on each tyre's dynamic load, pressure, and temperature, optimizing tractor performance and promoting sustainable operations.
Further enhancing the Trelleborg customer experience, Elio Bartoli, President EMEA & Global OEM, announced the launch of the Trelleborg Premium Care program in Europe. This initiative offers extended warranties on Trelleborg tyres, providing farmers with unparalleled support, expertise, and care, thereby improving performance and extending tyre lifespan.
