Saunders, who previously held the position of Territory Business Manager at Michelin, is no stranger to the intricacies of the agricultural sector. With this new role, he is poised to bridge the gap between Michelin's vast customer base and its dedicated research and development team. His primary responsibility will be to channel feedback from the agricultural community, ensuring that Michelin remains attuned to the evolving market trends and anticipates future demands.

Speaking about his new role, Saunders expressed his commitment to maintaining Michelin's legacy of innovation and unparalleled customer satisfaction. "Michelin has always been at the forefront of pioneering advancements in the tyre industry," Saunders remarked. "In collaboration with our sales team and our esteemed dealer network, my mission is to ensure that we not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers. This involves a keen understanding of our existing products, as well as proactively addressing the future needs of the market, be it in terms of tyre sizes or innovative tread designs."

Saunders' journey with Michelin began in 2009 when he came on board as an Agricultural Account Manager. However, his association with the farm machinery sector predates his Michelin tenure. After obtaining a BTEC National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from Askham Bryan College in North Yorkshire, Saunders served as a Fendt Area Sales Manager for AGCO. Reflecting on his extensive experience, he shared, “I have been around farming and farm machinery my whole life and have seen lots of changes in the sector,” he says. “This is an exciting and challenging new role where no two days will be the same.”

In his new capacity, Saunders will be working closely with Carl Williams, the Customer Engineering Support Team Manager for the UK & Republic of Ireland at Michelin.

The appointment of Tom Saunders is a testament to the company's commitment to understanding and serving the needs of the agricultural community.
