Kumho's Latest Tyre Model Secures Top Marks in Prestigious European Testing
Kumho Tyres has once again proven its mettle in the competitive tyre industry by achieving a high rating in the recent summer tyre test conducted by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), one of Europe's most respected automobile clubs.
The Kumho ECSTA HS52, a product that merges innovation with safety and efficiency, was recognised for its outstanding performance, securing a place among the top three in a rigorous evaluation process.
This year's ADAC summer tyre test focused on 215/55R17 tyres, a size commonly used in European markets, featuring products from 16 leading manufacturers. The evaluation, which took place using a Volkswagen T-Roc, highlighted two critical criteria: 'driving safety', which assesses performance on both wet and dry roads, and 'environmental balance', evaluating mileage, wear resistance, fuel efficiency, noise levels, and overall sustainability.
The ECSTA HS52, known for its versatile fitment across both sedans and SUVs, stood out with its innovative tread pattern and robust block design. This not only ensures a consistently high grip but also contributes to a quieter, smoother ride, enhancing the driving experience. Furthermore, the tyre's sturdy shoulder blocks are engineered to improve steering performance, underlining Kumho's commitment to maximum driving safety.
Seonghak Song, Senior Vice-President of Passenger Car Tyre Development at Kumho Tyres, expressed his satisfaction with the results, stating, "This outstanding test result from an organisation with significant influence in Europe and around the world demonstrates the technological prowess of Kumho Tyres." He further added, "It serves as a testament to our competitiveness in Korea and beyond. We will continue to enhance our R&D activities to strengthen Kumho’s position as a trusted brand in the marketplace."
This achievement follows closely on the heels of another commendable performance where the ECSTA HS52 finished second in a braking safety test conducted by Auto Bild, one of Europe's most prestigious motoring magazines. The test involved 205/55R16 size tyres, the most frequently purchased fitment for the popular European compact car segment, further cementing Kumho's status as a leader in tyre technology and safety.
As Kumho Tyres continues to push the boundaries of tyre technology, drivers across Europe and beyond can look forward to products that offer superior safety, performance, and environmental sustainability.
