Goodyear has been named ‘Top Manufacturer: Summer 2023’ by Auto Bild, the esteemed German automotive publication and tyre tester, for the second consecutive year. The accolade was given in recognition of the performance of Goodyear’s range of premium summer tyres during rigorous testing of some of the most popular brands in the market.
The ‘Top Manufacturer’ award is presented to the tyre manufacturer that achieves the best overall results throughout the summer testing season, and Goodyear impressed Auto Bild’s testers with its consistent performance across its range. In particular, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and EfficientGrip 2 SUV tyre models were singled out for praise.
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is Goodyear’s latest ultra-high performance tyre, designed to work with a wide range of cars, including the latest EVs and SUVs. During testing, Auto Bild described the tyre as having “exemplary performance on wet and dry slopes [with] outstanding mileage”. The tyre ranked first out of 50 summer tyres tested, while also being named "Eco-Master" for its efficiency. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 was the only tyre to receive only positive feedback from testers.
Meanwhile, the EfficientGrip 2 SUV earned an “exemplary” rating in Auto Bild allrad’s test (225/65R17). Testers praised its “well-balanced, safe driving characteristics, good aquaplaning reserves, short wet braking distances, good off-road capability [and] good comfort.”

Auto Bild’s testing methodology is highly regarded within the industry for its thoroughness, covering both performance criteria and the number of tyres tested. Goodyear’s achievement in winning the ‘Top Manufacturer: Summer 2023’ award for the second year running underscores the company's dedication to producing tyres that optimise vehicle performance across all summer driving conditions.
