European Tyre Body Joins Global Data Platform to Boost Sustainability and Safety

The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) has officially joined the Global Data Service Organisation (GDSO) as an associate member, enhancing its role within the tyre and automotive components sectors.

Founded in 2022, the GDSO serves as a cooperative entity focused on the standardisation of data in relation to tyres. Its mission includes the development of methodologies for data access and the facilitation of data exchange among stakeholders.

Adam McCarthy, the Secretary General of ETRMA, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, "Our association's involvement with the GDSO is a testament to the European tyre industry's dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology and sustainability." He expressed optimism about the role of digitalisation in promoting a circular economy and added, "We are eager to work alongside GDSO in crafting innovative solutions that ensure the availability of tyre data online. This initiative will lay the groundwork for new digital tools aimed at enhancing vehicle safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship."

This strategic alliance marks a significant step towards integrating digital solutions in the tyre industry, reflecting a broader commitment to future-ready and sustainable practices.
