BKT and Feld Motor Sports Celebrate Ten Years of Monster Jam Partnership and Extend Commitment until 2031
Since 2014, the leading off-highway tyre company BKT has been the official and exclusive tyre manufacturer for Monster Jam, providing families and fans around the world with an unexpected, unscripted, and unforgettable motorsports experience.
BKT and Feld Motor Sports are celebrating a decade-long partnership in the thrilling world of Monster Jam, an event renowned for its spectacular motorsport displays. Since the collaboration began, BKT has played a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of Monster Jam trucks with high-quality tyres designed to meet the rigorous demands of stunts and racing competitions. Recently, both companies reaffirmed their commitment to this successful partnership, extending it until 2031.
Over the past ten years, BKT has continuously developed competition-specific tyres, marking a journey of relentless innovation. Each tyre model has seen enhancements, culminating in the FL 354 pattern – the fourth generation specifically designed for Monster Jam. This tyre represents the pinnacle of BKT’s ongoing evolution, driven by feedback from Feld Entertainment, drivers, and a commitment to innovation.
The latest FL 354 tyre features several significant improvements. The tyre width has been reduced by about 60mm to prevent contact with vehicle parts and damage to shock absorbers during landings. The tyre shape has been rounded for better rolling, and the tread depth increased in the central area for improved traction and durability. Additionally, the tread depth in the shoulder area has been decreased to minimise sinking into the ground during cornering. The current tyre version includes extra blocks in the support zone under the shoulder area, enhancing traction when trucks land in tilted positions or on two wheels.
Designed to withstand intense mechanical stress and impacts from extreme stunts, the FL 354 tyre embodies BKT's commitment to cutting-edge, high-performance technologies. The company’s goal has always been to balance advanced performance with safety, achieved through a rigorous feedback cycle, testing, and ongoing fine-tuning supported by thorough research and development. Each new iteration represents a step forward in BKT's mission to push the limits and provide Monster Jam drivers with the best possible experience, even during the most extreme stunts.
Currently, Monster Jam trucks are equipped with BKT tyres nearly 1.7 meters high and weighing 211 kilograms. These tyres are kept at an inflation pressure of about 1.6 bar, ensuring shock absorption during jumps and stunts, and increasing the footprint to improve traction and reduce slippage.
The innovative solutions designed for Monster Jam trucks have proven beneficial beyond the arena. These technologies can now enhance the performance of agricultural and industrial vehicles, showcasing BKT’s versatility and positive impact on efficiency and productivity in off-highway applications.
