Today, Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. announced that it would provide Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. with its ADVAN V51 tyres as original equipment (OE) for use on the automaker's ELGRAND MPV, which was recently introduced with various specification upgrades. The MPV is being fitted with 225/55R18 98V Tyres.

The ADVAN V51 is a high-performance tyre from YOKOHAMA's ADVAN brand, which is its global flagship. By applying particular tuning to their tread pattern and material, the tyres being supplied have a high level of quietness befitting the ELGRAND. Furthermore, due to their strong structural stiffness, they can exhibit outstanding steering stability.

The ELGRAND is a premium minivan with a roomy interior and features akin to those found in a high-end sedan. The ELGRAND is equipped with cutting-edge safety features including "Nissan Safety Assist 360," a multidirectional driving assistance system that features intelligent emergency braking and a system that avoids crashes in the event that the driver accidently steps on the gas pedal. The low centre of gravity platform and the stable driving performance that previous ELGRAND model owners have long praised are also present in the ELGRAND, which also boasts superb handling stability.

Under the current medium-term management strategy of Yokohama Rubber, Yokohama Transformation 2023 (YX2023), the consumer tyre business seeks to maximise the sales ratios of high-value YOKOHAMA tyres, specifically the global flagship ADVAN brand, the GEOLANDAR brand of tyres for SUVs and pickup trucks, and various winter tyres. Expanding the use of ADVAN and GEOLANDAR tyres as standard equipment on new vehicles is one of the main goals under this approach. In an effort to increase sales of ADVAN tyres in the replacement tyre market, Yokohama Rubber has unveiled the ADVAN Sport V107 and the ADVAN NEOVA AD09 high-performance street tyres for 2022.
