The recent appointments involve replacing long-standing trustees who have stepped down, as well as adding two additional members to enhance the board's collective skill set.

Among the new trustees is Astrid van der Burgt, the Head of Road Safety at Holcim, a multinational company specialising in building materials. Another addition is Paul Milner, who previously served as a Managing Director at Samworth Brothers and now runs his own consultancy. The third new trustee is Phil Kamutenga, based in Dar es Salaam, who leads JSI's operations in Tanzania. Additionally, Philip Roe, the recently retired Chief Customer Officer and Strategy Director UK for DHL Supply Chain and current President of Logistics UK, and Sharn Samra, the Global Marketing Director for Shell's Commercial Road Transport division, have joined the board.

Chair of the Board of Trustees, Joan Aitken, expresses her satisfaction with the exceptional level of interest and high caliber of applicants for the trustee positions. She highlights Transaid's remarkable support, both in the UK and worldwide, as a testament to the organisation's achievements.

"Our Trustees share the ultimate responsibility for governing Transaid and directing how it is managed and run. As we look forward to the next 25 years, I am confident we do so with a fantastic team to guide and support this very special organisation."

The newly appointed trustees join the existing board members, Alan Hunt, Bill Howie, Gavin Williams, James Keeler, Julia Bunting, Maeve Magner, Olive Kobusingye, and Phidelia Mwaba.
