Toyo Tire Corporation, has announced its participation in the 2023 Nürburgring Endurance Series and the Nürburgring 24 Hours, both to be held at the iconic Nürburgring circuit in Germany.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours is widely considered one of the most grueling endurance races in the world, while the Nürburgring Endurance Series is a year-long competition consisting of nine races with varying lengths from 4 to 12 hours.

Toyo has partnered with Ring Racing, an experienced racing team that has worked with some of the world's leading auto manufacturers and won numerous prizes. Takayuki Kinoshita, who was appointed as the PROXES Brand Ambassador in January 2023, will join the team as one of the drivers for the 2023 season. Toyo Tire will provide its PROXES Slicks, a racing tyre developed exclusively for TOYOTA GR Supra GT4, with special specifications for Nürburgring, in a bid to win the championship in the SP10 class of the 2023 races.

Takayuki Kinoshita

Takayuki Kinoshita is a successful professional racing driver from Japan. He has achieved podium finishes in major races such as the All Japan Touring Car Championships and Super GT. He has also participated in many international races, including the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where he placed 5th overall, the highest ranking Japanese driver. Kinoshita is also a motor journalist, serving on the selection committee for Car of the Year Japan and writing as a columnist. He was recently appointed as the Brand Ambassador for TOYO TIRES flagship tire brand, PROXES.

Located in Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, the Nürburgring circuit is 25 km long and features the Grand Prix track (approximately 5 km) and the Nordschleife ("North Loop," approximately 20 km). The North Loop is notorious for its numerous challenges for drivers, including a 300m elevation change and over 170 corners, making lap time on the course a key performance indicator for vehicles and tyres. As such, many auto and tyre manufacturers view the event as an opportunity to enhance the performance of their products.

Toyo Tire is no stranger to motorsports and has been using its participation in various races to improve its tyre development process. The company feeds the data and experience gained through participation in motorsports activities back to its product development process in an effort to deliver high-quality, high-performance tyres.

Toyo Tire's participation in the Nürburgring races highlights the company's commitment to producing high-quality, high-performance tyres that can withstand the toughest racing conditions. It also demonstrates the company's dedication to motorsports and the role it plays in improving its products. Fans and customers around the world can expect to see the Toyo Shimizu and Ring Racing team in action in May 2023 for the Nürburgring 24 Hours, and throughout the year for the Nürburgring Endurance Series.
