JK Tyre, one of India's largest tyre manufacturers, has made an exciting breakthrough in the field of sustainability. The company has announced the development of a new tyre that is made with 80% recycled and renewable materials, making it an eco-friendly alternative to standard radial tyres.

The new tyre, called "Ux Green", has been extensively tested both indoors and outdoors on roads and test tracks to ensure its performance matches that of traditional tyres. This development marks a significant step towards the company's goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.

Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre, expressed his excitement about the new tyre, stating that it had been "fully designed and developed using 80 percent sustainable materials." He added that the company plans to offer a range of such tyres in due course.

The materials used to create the Ux Green tyre include natural rubber, bio-attributed SBR and BR, bio-based oil, recycled rubber powder, recovered carbonaceous black, recycled polyester, and steel wire. By utilising these sustainable materials, JK Tyre has significantly reduced the carbon footprint of its tyres.

In addition to being environmentally friendly, the Ux Green tyre delivers performance comparable to standard radial tyres. This means that drivers can enjoy a safe and comfortable ride without sacrificing their commitment to sustainability.

This groundbreaking development by JK Tyre is an important step towards a more sustainable future for the tyre industry. As more and more companies begin to prioritise sustainability, we can look forward to a world where eco-friendly products are the norm rather than the exception.
