Bridgestone EMIA has once again been awarded the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum ranking for its sustainability efforts.

EcoVadis, one of the world's largest and most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, recognized Bridgestone EMIA for its achievements in environmental, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The company's overall score climbed five points compared to 2021, with its rankings for Labour & Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement each increasing by 10 points.

This ranking puts Bridgestone EMIA in the top 1% of over 100,000 companies from over 200 industries worldwide. This is the second year in a row that the company has achieved the Platinum status, and it has consistently moved up the ranks since its first assessment by EcoVadis in 2015, going from being in the top 12% to the top 4% in 2018 and now the top 1% in both 2021 and 2022.

The improved score in Labour & Human Rights is a testament to Bridgestone's ongoing implementation of its Global Human Rights Policy and its due diligence across its supply chain and range of operations. In the assessment category of Sustainable Procurement, Bridgestone's work to continuously apply and strengthen its Global Sustainable Procurement policy has helped drive sustainability throughout the entire supply chain, benefitting both the environment and the communities in which it operates.

Koji Takagi, Management Board Member and Chief Sustainability Officer of Bridgestone EMIA, commented on the award, saying "Receiving the top rating from EcoVadis for the second consecutive year confirms Bridgestone's strong commitment to sustainability, and the fact we continue to provide social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company."

He added, "We are particularly pleased to be recognized for our efforts to drive sustainability not just within Bridgestone but also throughout the entire supply chain. This rating reaffirms the positive impact our various initiatives, including the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, are having, and gives us renewed encouragement for our plans for the years ahead."

Bridgestone's commitment to sustainability is a major part of the company's mission to continue to provide social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company towards 2050. It is also the embodiment of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment- a set of eight areas that provide a compass and guide to do business in a sustainable way.
