With the deadline for the Ministry of Transport (MOT) testing fast approaching, it's time for all MOT testers to ensure they're ready to carry on testing.

But despite the urgency of the situation, more than 25,000 MOT testers in the UK still haven't completed the appropriate training and passed the relevant assessment by 31 March 2023.

To remain compliant, MOT testers need to complete at least three hours of training each year and 16 hours in five years, keep a record of their training, and book and take their assessment. Failure to pass the annual assessment by the deadline will result in the suspension of the tester's MOT status, which could lead to a loss of business and revenue.

The good news is that the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) can help make the process easier and less stressful for MOT testers. The IMI offers a range of helpful resources on its website, including preparation materials and a user-friendly eLearning platform that allows testers to complete their training and assessment from anywhere - https://tide.theimi.org.uk/mot

If you're an MOT tester and have any questions or concerns about the process, the IMI is ready to help. Contact them via email at mot@theimi.org.uk or call them on 01992 519025, and they'll be happy to assist you.

Don't wait until it's too late to ensure you're MOT ready. Get in touch with the IMI today to stay compliant and keep testing.
