This strategic move highlights Apollo Tyres’ continued focus on growth within Central Europe, which includes key markets like Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark. The company is looking to build on its strong foundation in the region with the help of Matuko’s extensive experience in the international automotive industry.
Matuko brings with her an impressive 18-year career in the automotive sector, starting as a Key Account Manager at Formel D Group, a global automotive service supplier. Over the years, she has held various leadership and expert roles in sales and marketing with several leading automotive manufacturers. Her most recent position was Business Manager to the CEO and Vice President Sales at Opel Automobile GmbH, where she played a pivotal role in expanding Opel’s international business and refining the company's global brand strategy.
At Apollo Tyres, Matuko will report directly to Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial, Europe, and will be part of the company’s sales and marketing management team. Her extensive experience and deep industry knowledge are expected to drive growth in Apollo’s Central European operations.
In her first public comments as Head of Cluster Central Europe, Matuko expressed her excitement about joining Apollo Tyres. “I am honoured to join this exceptional company and excited to leverage my experience in the sector. My primary focus will be to drive operational excellence while cultivating a culture of collaboration and accountability among our talented team. Together, we will push our business performance and empower our people to achieve remarkable results,” said Matuko.
Her vision aligns closely with Apollo Tyres' objectives, emphasising teamwork and operational efficiency as the company seeks to further enhance its market position in Central Europe.
Yves Pouliquen welcomed Matuko to her new role, highlighting her expertise and leadership qualities. “Alexandra’s strong entrepreneurial mindset, extensive background in sales and marketing management, and proven leadership skills make her an invaluable addition to our team. We’re confident that she will play a crucial role in advancing our objectives in Central Europe and contributing to Apollo Tyres’ growth in these key markets,” Pouliquen commented.
Matuko’s leadership comes at an important time for Apollo Tyres, as the company continues to grow its market share in Europe. With Matuko at the helm of Central Europe, Apollo aims to leverage her experience to further accelerate growth and innovation across the region.
Germany, Switzerland, and Denmark represent crucial markets for Apollo Tyres within Central Europe. Matuko’s experience in international sales and her strategic approach will likely be key factors in enhancing Apollo’s presence in these countries.
